Since its inception in 1993, BAPE has consistently delivered a number of sneakers fusing various American subcultures with Japanese streetwear aesthetics. The popular BAPE STA bears unmistakable resemblance to the Air Force 1, and a brand-new silhouette from the Japanese brand is set to arrive with clear and iconic source material. This summer, BAPE introduces the Clutch Sta, which draws notable inspiration from the Air Jordan 3.
The BAPE Clutch Sta is a mid-top silhouette with an all-leather upper reminiscent of the Air Jordan 3, especially the lacing setup, tongue, and perforated leather along the collar. The midfoot proudly displays BAPE’s iconic star logo, while a midsole with exposed cushioning mimics Nike’s Air unit and the swooping lines of the AJ3. Back on the heel, a branding window is present with the number “93” placed inside, signaling the year A Bathing Ape was founded. Finalizing the design is a tonal outsole.
The BAPE Clutch Sta is set to release in July through BAPE and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $270. keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
