Originally thought to be the next iteration of the Yeezy Foam RNNR, the adidas adiFOM Q has drummed up a fair amount of controversy thanks to Ye and the public perception surrounding The Three Stripe’s use of Yeezy-like design language. So far, the public has only had the opportunity to go after the “Off-White” and “Black” colorways, though a “Cosmic Ways Pack” is set to hit shelves in 2023. Ahead of that, four new colorways should see a launch during the tail end of 2022 with simple neutral shades dressing each one.
All four colorways, including the “Wonder White,” “Core Black,” “Footwear White,” and “Grey Four,” come with the same construction that, according to adidas, is inspired by the archival adidas Quake. An exoskeleton comprised of EVA foam wraps around an internal Primeknit bootie with the former of the two featuring various organic-shaped cutouts and wavy designs from heel to toe. Inside the sneaker, the Primeknit hugs the wearer's foot while providing immaculate comfort due to the adiPLUS cushioning attached to the bottom. Laces keep it in place, which if removed, can actually be swapped out for another color if you happen to own multiple pairs. For the two white-based colorways, the foam exoskeleton comes in a very similar neutral shade while the “Wonder White” features a black/orange Primeknit and the “Footwear White” gets covered in grey. On the “Core Black” and “Grey Four” colorways, a monochromatic color palette is present with both parts getting almost the exact same shade as one another. Rounding out the design of each pair is a matching foam outsole with a cutout to allow the adiPLUS cushioning system to lock into place.
The adidas adiFOM Q in Wonder White, Core Black, Footwear White, and Grey Four have seen a small release through Uptherestore over in Australia while a worldwide release is expected before the end of 2022. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price for all four pairs is set at $120.
