In addition to the Adizero Adios 8, adidas is adding to its high-performance running series with the Adizero Boston 12. Whereas the former is built for race day, the Adizero Boston 12 is designed to give you that race day feel throughout training.
adidas used 19 training sessions in Kenya with runners Peres Jepchirchir, Abel Kipchumba, and Angela Tanui to inform the Boston 12. Jepchirchir is the reigning Olympic gold medalist for the women’s marathon, and she also won the 2021 New York City and 2022 Boston Marathons.
The Adizero Boston 12 starts from the top with an engineered mesh upper with targeted zones to provide lockdown at midfoot and flexibility at the forefoot. At least 50 percent of the upper is made from recycled materials.
Fiberglass Energy Rods 2.0 appear in the midsole and bolster a seamless transition from heel to toe. These rods are sandwiched between layers of Lightstrike Pro and Lightstrike 2.0 foam for a heavily cushioned, dynamic run.
The adidas Adizero Boston 12 is scheduled to release today through the brand’s website, app, and physical stores, although it hasn’t appeared yet online. With men’s and women’s sizing, retail is set at $160.
