If you ask any Three Stripes enthusiast what the most iconic sneaker from the '80s was, there's a high probability that they'd bring up the ZX 8000. Regarded by many as one of the best running shoes to come out of the German sportswear brand, it's celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. To mark this massive milestone, adidas has unleashed the adidas Cozy ZX 8000 "Chalk White," and while most colorways stick to the OG design, this special edition pair adds a deconstructed twist that's sure to turn heads wherever you go.
Dropping the usual mesh and leather construction in favor of a cozy chalk white sherpa-like material, this is, hands down, one of the most unique ZX 8000s to release in the model's three-decade-long history. While most colorways are stitched and finished to sheer perfection, the edges and hems here have been left exposed for an avant-garde aesthetic. Soft yellow foam highlights the shoe, making its way from the toebox area all the way to the heel counter around the back. Woven laces tie everything together, and all of this sits on top of a clean Torsion midsole that pretty much sticks to the original design.
Expected to release on January 26th, 2023, the adidas Cozy ZX 8000 Chalk White will be available in men's sizes for $140 via adidas, the CONFIRMED app, and select retailers online and in physical locations.
