adidas' Copa is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of its more iconic footwear lines of all-time. Established in the late '70s, the original soccer boots were designed for the 1982 FIFA World Cup held in Spain, and even after all of these years, it's still considered to be unrivaled, both in terms of reputation and on the pitch. As we head towards the series' 45th anniversary, it looks like the German giant will be combining the Copa's DNA with the aesthetics of the NMD with the upcoming adidas NMD S1 "Copa" Pack - and here's everything that we know so far.
Arriving in four unique color palettes, including "Cloud White," "Core Black," "Grey Mint," and "White Black," the collection boasts a redesigned Primeknit construction that's infused with Copa's signature wavy detailing across the lateral and medial sidewalls. Thick rope laces tie everything together, and underfoot, the midsole is as chunky as it gets, housing a full bed of Boost for comfort and cushioning that's unlike anything else out there. Each NMD S1 Copa is then finished with a selection of Trefoil motifs along the outsole, which nod to other retro models from the German sportswear company's past.
The adidas NMD S1 Copa Pack is set to release in 2023 via adidas, the CONFIRMED app, and select retailers online and in physical locations. Expected to be available in men's sizes, it'll retail for $250 each.
