From the football fields of the 1950s to the streets of the modern-day fashion capitals, the adidas Samba has seamlessly transitioned into an iconic staple for sneaker enthusiasts and casual wearers alike. Recently, adidas has amplified classic models, including the Forum Low and Superstar, by introducing the XLG iterations, and now the Samba is getting the same treatment. As the sneaker community continues to show love for reimagined classics, the Samba XLG, especially in its revered "White Black" and "Black White" colorways, promises to be a significant drop following its "White Green" colorway revealed a few weeks back.
Stepping onto the scene with nostalgic familiarity, the adidas Samba XLG maintains its signature colorblocking while embracing the XLG’s hallmark of magnified features. A suede panel graces the toebox, juxtaposed by a rich leather construction that spans the remainder of the shoe. The distinctive leather Three Stripes command attention with their amplified size, matched by the pronounced leather contouring near the heel. Glimmers of metallic gold highlight the "Samba" branding adjacent to the Three Stripes, accompanied by the Trefoil emblem prominently displayed on the tongue. Rounding out the design is the chunky gum rubber sole appearing more pronounced than its regular Samba counterpart.
The adidas Samba XLG Black White and White Black will release in 2023 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Currently, sizing and pricing are TBA.
