Shane O’Neill has had an impressive career in the skate world even though he is a man of few words. Aside from the semi-frequent posts on Instagram, the Australian native has been building his brand, April Skateboards, from the ground up for years while maintaining key sponsorships from brands like Diamond Supply & Co., Spitfire Wheels, and most notably Nike SB. In the past, O’Neill has hinted at a possible signature silhouette with the label, however, it seems his label April Skateboards will first collaborate on the iconic Nike SB Dunk Low.
Rumors circulated that the pair had been canceled due to production issues with the rose design underneath the sole unit and the mesh netting on the side. However, Nike resolved these issues. On the upper, we see this SB Dunk Low take on a suede finish with a washed green effect across the overlays, while chrome accents land on the redesigned Nike Swoosh and on the April branding near the lateral heel overlay and heel tab. White shades land on the leather toebox, while the quarter panel and collar come covered in a white netting material. As with all SB Dunks, the tongue and sockliner come with thicker padding, while the insole features added Zoom Air for even more comfort. Rounding out the look is the white Dunk midsole paired with a clear rubber outsole that hosts a rose logo below.
The April Skateboards x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release on November 27, 2023, through select Nike SB-affiliated skate shops, April Skateboards, and SNKRS. Releasing in men's, preschool, and toddler sizing, the pair will retail for $120 (men), $90 (PS) and $75 (TD).
