Since its launch in the mid-80s, the adidas Rivalry has been associated with some of the biggest names in the NBA, including Ewing, before he created his own footwear label. Ewing isn't officially involved in this collaboration, but the use of his number and the colors of his alma matter of Georgetown make the connection clear.
The atmos x adidas Rivalry 86 Patrick Ewing takes inspiration from the classic adidas Concord Mid, a silhouette known for its iconic snakeskin renditions. The upper is dressed in grey nubuck, creating a subtle background for the standout feature, the blue snakeskin leather. This vibrant snakeskin treatment graces the adidas Three Stripes, tongue tag, and heel tab, bringing a contemporary touch to the retro silhouette. Patrick Ewing's number 33 adorns the side of the sneaker as a nod to the basketball great. Final touches include an all-grey midsole and outsole, keeping the focus on the upper's intricate details.
