Collaborations in the sneaker world have ramped up in the last decade as what was once a rare occasion has turned into an almost monthly occurrence. One boutique that often finds itself teaming up with footwear brands is atmos, getting the opportunity to work with the likes of adidas, Asics, and New Balance regularly throughout each year. Now, atmos is once again working with the Boston-based NB to bring their hometown of Tokyo to another sneaker, the recently revived 1906R.
Taking on hues of black, grey, and white throughout the mesh and leather upper, accenting purple hits mimicking the night lights of Tokyo appear via the tongues lining and on the N-lock “N” logo along the midfoot. Grey mesh takes over the majority of the sneaker with safari-print leather overlays laid across the mesh, creating triangular-shaped panels. Running up the tongue is a tonal set of grey flat laces, reaching an “NB Running” branded tongue label while the insole nearby gets a purple makeover alongside this same branding detail. Back on the heel, a plastic heel counter in all black helps maintain structure for this running-ready sneaker while the black-speckled cream midsole and black rubber outsole complete the design.
The atmos x New Balance 1906R Tokyo Dimensions is set to release on September 24th, 2022 exclusively in Japan through atmos online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for updates on the latest in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
