Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers took a different route from most regarding his shoe deal. The star guard decided to sign with Chinese sportswear label Rigorer, launching his AR1 sneaker at the end of 2023 to much praise. Building on the success of the AR1 and the previous teaser of the AR2, Reaves and Rigorer are set to launch the AR2 in the debut Fusion colorway in December.
The Rigorer AR2 Fusion arrives with a striking mismatched design, pairing vibrant pink and green hues that symbolize Reaves’ growth and versatility as a player. The sneaker’s woven upper is inspired by the Swallowtail butterfly, featuring intricate electric embroidery that mimics butterfly wing veins. This design choice highlights Reaves’ transformation from an undrafted rookie to an aesthetically and symbolically elite performer.
Performance-driven features include a Full-Length Showtime Foam Tech midsole for 70% more energy return than its predecessor, a Full-Length Anti-Torsion TPU Plate for stability, and Anti-Slip Sole technology that ensures optimal grip on the court. Additionally, the Fusion colorway includes a custom box and performance socks to round out the offering.
