Earlier this year, Balenciaga completely broke the internet by officially taking the wraps off its collaboration with adidas. Revealed at its now-iconic stock exchange-inspired New York Fashion Week showcase, the French luxury fashion house and the German sportswear giant connected on a vast range of apparel and accessories, as well as a Triple S and Speed Trainer. With that said, one pair that completely slipped under the radar was the Balenciaga x adidas Destroyed Stan Smith, and without a shadow of a doubt, these are some of strangest sneakers that we've ever seen.
Taking on the classic tennis silhouette, Balenciaga's take on the Stan Smith is basically what a conventional pair would look like... if it were flattened by a 20 ton steam roller. Taking the pre-worn aesthetic to a whole other level, the leather has been heavily distressed and aged for a thrift shop vibe. Coming in washed out "Core Black" and "Cloud White" color schemes, a dash of green hits the tongue and heel of the latter, while co-branded detailing can be found on the insoles of both Destroyed Stan Smiths.
The Balenciaga x adidas Destroyed Stan Smith collaboration is set to release on November 3rd, 2022 in men's sizes with a retail price yet TBA. Expected to drop at Balenciaga, adidas, the CONFIRMED app, and select retailers worldwide, make sure you follow us on Twitter and download our officialMobile App to find out everything that you need to know about this collection as well as future releases.
