For college basketball, the month of March is the most important time. "March Madness" as it is properly named, serves as the "playoffs" of the NCAA. A total of 68 teams qualify for the tournament each year (in both the men's and women's divisions), each team fighting for the title of national champion. For the University of Connecticut and they women's team, they have seen huge success over the past 20+ years with multiple championships won. During her time as a Husky, Breanna Stewart would win four consecutive NCAA national titles, a very rare feat. Even though she has gone pro and won a few titles this way, she never forgets to pay tribute to her college alma mater when she can.
With the start of March Madness, the UCONN Huskies will be fighting for the national championship, something that is very common on a yearly basis (at least for the women's team). While they might have their work cut out for them, Stewart will be showing her Husky pride by releasing a UCONN-themed colorway of her first signature sneaker, the Puma Stewie 1. Nicknamed the "Four Time" edition, the sneaker comes dressed in white, blue, red, and grey. Matching the Huskies team colors, it sports a white-based upper with blue wrapping around the heel, red branding on the sides, and a small patch of grey near the top eyelets. The Puma Stewie 1 "Four Time" is the final colorway set to release for Stewart's debut sig shoe, making way for the Puma Stewie 2 later in the year.
The Puma Stewie 1 Four Time W is set to release on March 10th, 2023. It will drop at Puma, as well as select retailers both online and in-store. Coming in women's sizing, retail is set at $120.
