Dating back to 1987, Street Fighter has forever held its place in pop culture, especially considering it is one of the highest-grossing fighting games of all time. While Nike botched an unofficial homage to the game thanks to the pandemic, it seems that Capcom themselves is looking to Reebok to pay homage to the title through an upcoming collaborative collection. On top of an Instapump Fury colorway, the Reebok Shaq Attaq will be getting the “Street Fighter” treatment as well.
Taking on a combo of dark sable, black, luxe blue, and yellow, the silhouette is covered in a mixture of canvas, leather, and suede. Around the toebox, dark sable suede gets contrasted by the black leather overlay that wraps around in a wavy form towards the heel. As it works back, it crosses paths with yellow and luxe blue suede on the quarter panel and heel respectively while also coming connected to the plastic eyestays near the canvas tongue. Black laces run up toward a redesigned Pump button that features “Street Fighter” text in its classic typeface while “Capcom” and “Reebok” text is featured on two tags in Capcoms typical font. Back on the heel, Reebok’s logo gets placed on the left sneaker while the right features an OG Shaq logo and text. For the sockliner, a concrete-like graphic covers the mesh with the insole below getting graphics of characters from Street Fighter II. Underfoot, a black/white foam midsole gets paired with a black and light brown rubber outsole.
The Capcom x Reebok Shaq Attaq Street Fighter is set to release on October 29th, 2022 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
