Fledgling streetwear brands often make their mark on the industry through unique design language, high-quality pieces, or by having a tastemaker be spotted rocking their pieces. While Come Tees may not have the backing of fashion influencers in the mainstream just yet, the folks over at Converse noticed their approach to design and reached out to see what they could create on iconic silhouettes in their lineup. With that, the LA-based streetwear brand took it upon itself to create an apparel capsule alongside two unique colorways on the Converse Chuck Taylor and Converse One Star.
For the sneakers, Come Tees brings its distinctive graphic language and bright colors to both aforementioned silhouettes. On the Chuck Taylor, Bright orange canvas takes over the majority of the upper with the typical metallic eyelets and white rubber toecap remaining unchanged. Working back along the lateral side, a celestial-like symbol replaces the usual star branding logo, coming studded with metal divots along its edge and taking on a black/blue color scheme. On the spine of the sneaker, “Come Tees” and “Star Path” text is stamped in black while the left sneakers sole tag gets more branding from the streetwear label. Once you make your way over to the medial side, the Converse star logo makes its return with “Star” text written in a playful font. Rounding out the look is a white vulcanized midsole paired with a black rubber outsole featuring a flame-like logo in white.
On the One Star, similar design motifs make their way to this low-top model, though the color palette does slightly change. Black suede covers the majority of the upper with the midfoot’s cut-out star logo getting a similar orange shade to the Chuck Taylor as well as featuring studded metal divots all throughout the medial and lateral sides. Working back to the sockliner, a tie-dye effect is applied with shades of green and orange splattered throughout, though the insole takes on a more solid shade of each color that is split between the two pairs. Co-branded details can also be found here on the insole with the heel’s logo borrowing from the Chuck Taylor’s design. Finishing off the sneaker is a black rubber outsole with an orange flame-like design drawn atop.
Included in the collection is a range of apparel, including fleece crewnecks and pants, as well as a shirt and overalls. Each piece features a handmade aesthetic thanks to its spray paint-like collage of colors. Both brands, Come Tees and Converse have their logos split between the front and back respectively.
The Come Tees x Converse Collection is set to release via Nike SNKRS and select retailers online and in-store on October 20th, 2022. The Chuck Taylor and One Star will be available in men’s sizing for a retail price of $115 and $105 respectively. Clothing pieces range in price from $60 to $140.
