Concepts has a history of partnering with sneaker brands to create memorable designs, while Vault by Vans is known for its premium versions of the brand's classic silhouettes. Fresh off the heels of previous lauded releases, the duo is back, this time taking inspiration from the phrase “Smoke and Mirrors” on two iconic Vans silhouettes.
Diving into the pack, the OG SK8-Hi LX adopts a subdued colorway. The upper features a smoky gray suede, reminiscent of the subtle dance of smoke, paired with sublimated canvas patterns that visually represent both elements in the theme. The reflective components added to the mix represent the mirror, gleaming when caught in the right light, adding a touch of dazzle. Matching these vibes, the OG Old Skool LX features a bolder representation of the theme, with clear distinctions between the "smoke" and "mirror" elements and reflective accents strategically placed for a pronounced effect. Both sneakers in the pack strike a balance between the literal and abstract interpretations of the theme, making them stand out in their own right.
The Concepts x Vans Smoke and Mirrors Pack will release September 8, 2023, exclusively via Concepts online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120 for the SK8-Hi LX and $110 for the Old Skool LX.
