NBA media day is upon us. This is the time for all the teams around the league to showcase new unis, field questions from the media about offseason moves, and for players to debut new looks. This day often provides a glimpse into the footwear for the upcoming season. During the Phoneix Sunsโ press conference, Devin Booker was asked about a follow-up to his Nike Book 1 sneaker by Nice Kicks, with Booker replying that the Book 2 is "in the works."
In December last year, Nike and Booker debuted his first signature sneaker, the Nike Book 1, through a series of PE colorways and a limited Clay Orange pair for Art Basel. Inline variants began hitting shelves in February 2024. Reception was initially lukewarm, but ball players and sneakerheads' opinions changed as soon as pairs were made available to the public. On top of the inline colorways, next year will see the release of pairs that were at one point in time exclusive to Booker, including his Forrest Gump Cortez-inspired colorway.

Details surrounding Book 2, including when it'll be released, remain a mystery. There are no plans for the sneaker to be released as far out as Summer 2025. Considering Booker stated the sneaker was "in the works," it's likely going through the sampling process and may not even have a final design chosen. Hopefully, at some point in the 2024-25 NBA season, Devin will give us a glimpse of what he and Nike have been cooking up.
