While Nike and Vans hold the dominant spot in terms of footwear for skaters, The Three Stripes has plenty of underlooked silhouettes ready for the grip tape. Recently reviving the cult-classic adidas Adimatic through a slew of collaborations, their latest endeavor comes via pro skater Kader Sylla who is dressing his second take on the adidas Superstar ADV in an all-over “Purple.”
Keeping iconic details to the standard adidas Superstar, like the rubber toecap, Kader takes the skate-ready model and adds hairy purple suede throughout the rest of the overlays and underlays. Laces match the tone of the upper while the lace dubrae and Trefoil branding atop the tongue come in a regal gold. Along the midfoot, the typical Three Stripes branding remains while the usual “Superstar” text comes replaced by “Kader” in gold. Sylla continues to add his first name to the model through his signature on the insole, laid atop the usual adidas text. Rounding out the design is the deep purple, almost black rubber midsole and outsole.
The Kader Sylla x adidas Superstar ADV Purple is set to release through adidas and select skate shops online and in-store on November 12th, 2022. Releasing in men’s sizing, the pair will retail for $100.
