First revealed by the late Virgil Abloh as a part of Louis Vuitton’s SS22 collection, official images and release information for retail pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 Collection have just been revealed.
The Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 is a Made-in-Italy, luxury take on the iconic Nike silhouette. These retail pairs were one of Virgil’s last projects at Louis Vuitton, and the available images suggest there are at least nine colorways releasing, including a “Triple White” Low, “Triple White” Mid, and a “Triple Black.” Blue, green, and red lows will release with panels of these respective colors overlaying white underlays, with colorblocking reminiscent of the Nike Dunk and Jordan 1. Finally, three louder pairs, a “Metallic Gold” Low with a black sole, a multi-colored Low with a black leather base, metallic silver toe, and hints of green, purple, and yellow, and a Mid with graffiti art adorning a traditional Louis Vuitton-patterned upper are scheduled to drop.
Additionally, per Louis Vuitton, there will be an exhibit displaying 47 different colorways of these Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1’s at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn from May 20th-31st as an ode to the creative process that Virgil Abloh went through in creating this collaboration. The concept of the Louis Vuitton Air Force 1 is one dating back to the 90s and early 2000s, where creatives like Dapper Dan and Raif Adelberg created custom versions of these sneakers, making the official release of this collaboration all the more appealing.
The release of the Louis Vuitton Nike Air Force 1 will be limited, with pairs first being available to Louis Vuitton “community members,” before an online release on July 19th. The nine colorways of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 will reportedly come in men’s sizes 3.5-18, with the Lows retailing for $2,750 and the Mids for $3,450.
