Steven Smith began development on the Instapump Fury back in 1992, and while it was unlike anything the world had ever seen at the time, it quickly gained a cult following amongst running enthusiasts. Fast forward 30 years and the sneaker's design remains pretty much the same, but it has since garnered interest from a completely different crowd. Ever since Maison Margiela teamed up with Reebok in 2020, fashionistas and style icons around the world have all been drawn to the unique sneaker, and now, the Parisian fashion house is expanding on the premium partnership with the Maison Margiela x Reebok Instapump Fury "Memory Of" Pack.
Arriving in two colorways, the first one sticks with the OG combination of citron, red, black, and white, while the second pair opts for a more understated "Echo Blue" palette. Featuring the classic Instapump design, Creative Director John Galliano gave both sneakers even chunkier midsoles for a towering look. The heel bridge and Pump bladder have also been reworked to fall in line with the French luxury label's aesthetic. You'll also find carbon fiber-inspired detailing along the arch for a sportier and more agile design language.
The Maison Margiela x Reebok Instapump Fury Citron and Maison Margiela x Reebok Instapump Fury Echo Blue will release on October 21st, 2022, and will be available in men's sizes with retail set at $400 each.
