Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF has become synonymous with unorthodox, viral sensations within the sneaker industry. After sparking a conversation with their audacious Crocs collaboration on Big Yellow Boot, MSCHF is back in the limelight with a fresh take on one of their previous works. This time, they are reimagining their medical cast-inspired MSCHF AC1 into a mule-style sneaker named the MSCHF AC2.
The MSCHF AC2 maintains the aesthetic of a medical boot, reminiscent of the original AC1, but with a slip-on design that aligns with today’s trend towards more relaxed, easy-to-wear footwear. The shoe comes in a cohesive grey, black, and blue combination, echoing its predecessor's palette. The function is also at the forefront of this design, with perforations strategically placed to enhance breathability, while the forefoot of the sneaker is fastened with a practical velcro strap. MSCHF branding is tastefully displayed on the footbed, extending down the forefoot and gracing the outsole. Selective blue hits are also present on portions of the outsole to finish the design.
The MSCHF AC2 will release August 22, 2023, exclusively via the MSCHF Sneakers App. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115.
