Founded back in 1994, the Japanese streetwear brand NEIGHBORHOOD has gained worldwide recognition from those in the fashion industry and streetwear enthusiasts. They’re most well known for their collaborative efforts with the likes of Travis Scott, adidas, and Vans with the latter of the three linking up once again. With their last release being a ceramic Sk8-Hi that can be used as a flower vase or incense burner, we’re now getting some wearable kicks in the form of a Vans Era and Vans Old Skool.
Coming in neutral tones, the Vans Era gets dressed in a monochromatic shade of grey or green, while the Old Skool continues the monochromatic theme in a light tan or beige hue. Each silhouette gets dressed in suede throughout the upper with tonal stitching details keeping everything in check while typical Vans design motifs remain in their usual spots. This can be seen on the Era through the branded tab near the collar while the Old Skool’s iconic jazz stripe runs from the heel towards the toe. The rest of the sneaker remains shrouded in mystery as these early images don’t provide a full detailed look, though we do know that the heel of the Era will have a printed “NBHD” logo just above the usual Vans “Off The Wall” tab on the sole. Underfoot, the vulcanized rubber midsole comes with more NEIGHBORHOOD branding details while the outsole comes in a tonal shade for each respective pair.
The NEIGHBORHOOD x Vans Era and Old Skool are set to release on November 25th, 2022 through NEIGHBORHOOD, Vans, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $95 for the Old Skool and $90 for the Era.
