First released back in 2010, Akio Hasegawa’s thisisneverthat collaboration kicked off its triumphant return this summer, and other cool colorways like the upcoming New Balance 1906R "White Red" easily make this retro runner one of the most sought-after silhouettes of the season.
While the Boston footwear company could’ve just left this 1906R all white and called it a day, the past few years have clearly shown that they always go above and beyond. Featuring a crisp white mesh upper, this is contrasted with a fiery red base layer that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. This scorching accent extends towards the lacing system which works in tandem with the “N” logo to form N-LOCK. A vintage-inspired N-ERGY midsole sits down below, and to round it all off, it’s lined with a healthy serving of gum rubber that perfectly offsets the rest of the palette.
If you’re a fan of green, a “White Green” variant is also in the pipeline. Scheduled to be releasing before the end of 2022, expect the New Balance 1906R White Red to be available at New Balance and select online and in-store stockists in men’s sizes for $150.
