New Balance has enjoyed continued success with the revival of silhouettes like the New Balance 2002R, 550, and 1906R. For the former of the three models mentioned, its runner-like dad-shoe vibe has become a staple in NBs release calendar, and often receives new makeovers regularly. For the latest rendition of the New Balance 2002R, the model gets dressed in tan shades on the “Incense” colorway.
Taking over the humble 2002R is a combo of suede, leather, and mesh, with each material seen in some form of tan. Lighter hues dress the suede mudguard, midfoot, and heel overlay, while the mesh base below comes in a darker hue. Leather panels on the toebox and collar also stay in the realm of tan that matches the same shade used on the lace set. More mesh hits are present on the tongue, with the top portion receiving a light tan suede makeover. Keeping this earthy theme alive is the sockliner's darker tan finish, while branding details on the midfoot and heel come in a combination of brown and light tan. Rounding out the look is the white foam midsole paired with a brown rubber outsole.
The New Balance 2002R Incense will be released in 2023 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
