We can all thanks Teddy Santis for the recent revival of the archival New Balance 550 and more recently the New Balance 650, both of which were vaulted back in the 90s just shortly after their release in 1989. Now, with colorways like “White Grey Black” and “Green” revealed, NB is bringing us what is arguably the cleanest 650 they can make by dressing the model in a singular “White” shade.
Taking on its classic leather construction, the titular white shade takes over the upper of the entire sneaker, sans the black piping found on the perforated overlay and grey branding on the top of the tongue. More perforated leather is visible on the toebox while the mudguard, quarter panel, heel, and collar get a smooth white leather finish. A matching tongue and lace set keep the monochromatic theme alive, as does the “N” logo, “650” text, and “NB” branding on the midfoot, toe, and heel respectively. Puffy mesh breaks up the almost all-leather build back around the collar while the insole features a hit of black thanks to the “NB” graphic stamped atop. Rounding out the design is the white rubber midsole paired with the white and grey non-marking rubber outsole.
The New Balance 650 White is set to release on November 10th, 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
