As we’ve seen over the last two years, New Balance has gained massive hype in the sneakerhead world. Once reserved for “dads,” plenty of influencers and average consumers began to wear big “N” logos on their feet with the reintroduction of the New Balance 550 and the rise in popularity of models like the 2002R, 650, and 99X series. One of the newer models under NB’s belt, the 9060, may not be as popular as the sneakers mentioned above. However, it continues to receive new makeovers throughout the month. For its latest rendition, NB covers the 9060 in a monochromatic “Washed Blue.”
Taking on a mixture of mesh, suede, and leather, a single shade of washed blue dresses each of the overlays and underlays on the silhouette. Nappy suede lands on the toe’s overlays that wrap back, pass the “N” logo, and reach the heel. Tonal laces match the washed blue shade found on the tongue, with the mesh base below taking on the same color. Overlays on the toebox and collar, get a leather finish, and continue the monochromatic makeover. Branding details throughout also follow suit with the blue makeover, as seen on the “9060” branded window on the tongue and the logo on the leather heel tab. Underfoot sits a chunky midsole that comes pre-worn with scuff marks, matching the rubber outsole below.
The New Balance 9060 Washed Blue will be released in 2023 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
