New Balance’s 997 model has been a staple in many sneakerheads' collections even though the brand hasn't released adult-size pairs in the last few years. Now, New Balance is reintroducing the beloved model with a remaster. Already spotted in the classic “Grey,” the 997R is now appearing in “Navy.”
Retaining a similar DNA to the original silhouette, the remastered 997 optimizes material use and slims the shape. Navy suede overlays on the mudguard, midfoot, and heel provide a sophisticated look and feel. The toe box incorporates a light greyish-blue mesh for a subtle contrast. Silver accents around the "N" logo and near the collar stand out against the grey pebbled leather vamp and collar, which add texture and depth to the design. Continuing the navy theme, the pebbled leather tongue features New Balance 997R branding in a crisp white that matches lace set. Underfoot, a cream-colored ENCAP Reveal midsole ensures optimal comfort and stability, while a grey and black outsole completes the aesthetic.
The New Balance 997R Navy released June 15 in the EU and will hit global shelves through New Balance and select retailers later this year. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at approximately $140.
