To this day, the Nike Air Foamposite One still looks like a sneaker from the future. Shocking as the silhouette made its debut in 1997, 25 years ago, when traditional materials reigned supreme in the performance basketball world. While this milestone anniversary hasn’t seen too much fanfare thanks to the AF1 and Air Max both celebrating their 40th and 35th birthdays respectively, 2023 will see a new colorway on the model inspired by putting in the work. Strikingly similar to the “Anthracite” colorway and seen in a "Grey" rendition, the Nike Air Foamposite One “Dream A World” has been revealed.
Taking on stealthy black throughout the entire sneaker, white brushstroke details along the unique Foamposite material give a somewhat marbled look to the colorway. Black-on-black hits come via the tongue, laces, and eyestays, while even the heels Penny Hardaway logo forgoes any color and sticks to the black theme. Once you reach the inside of the sneaker, you’ll find the insole hosts a famous quote from ancient Roman philosopher Lucius Seneca, stating “Luck/Success happens when preparation meets opportunity.” This same text can also be found on the paper inside the shoe packaging while the “Dream A World” message is written throughout the box itself. Going back to the sneaker itself, the entire design is finished off by a black midsole with a carbon fiber plate featuring white brushstroke details and the black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Dream A World is set to release on March 31st, 2023 through Nike SNRKS and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
