The Nike Air Huarache is a design masterpiece by Tinker Hatfield that's secured its place in the sneaker hall of fame for its innovative construction and style. This summer, Nike is giving the Air Huarache a fresh look by adding traditional materials to the model for the new Air Huarache Runner silhouette. For its debut, the model will appear in “Light Smoke Grey Black Violet Dust.”
The reimagined Nike Air Huarache leverages mesh, leather, and suede, introducing a more traditional construction. Black suede overlays grace the mudguard, eyestays, and midfoot panel, while smoke grey mesh and tumbled leather are spread throughout the remaining sections of the upper. The classic neoprene is preserved and adorned in a matching tonal grey hue along the tongue and vamp. Mini Swoosh branding embellishes the toe, heel, and midfoot. A TPU overlay on the heel continues to pay tribute to the sneaker's heritage. Berry-shaded branding atop the tongue adds a splash of color to the overall neutral palette. Underneath, a standard white Huarache foam midsole ensures the style doesn't compromise on comfort, while a gum outsole gives the design a pleasing finish.
The Nike Air Huarache Runner Light Smoke Grey will release July 6 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. The retail price is set at $140.
