While the AM 90 itself hasn’t received too much collaborative love, Nike has blessed the world with various colorways of the Nike Air Max 90 in the last year. Considering it's the Air Max line's 35th birthday in 2022, it's only right that we continue to receive new takes on the Tinker Hatfield-designed model. Now, The Swoosh is dressing the model in various faux animal prints.
Utilizing various animal prints, including those of a leopard, snake, and zebra, the sneaker also takes on an array of materials to reflect the different patterns visible throughout the upper. Along the mudguard, dotted leather similar to that of a reptile wraps around both sides of the sneaker with the lateral side continuing the green hue while the medial side transitions into a snakeskin. Suede runs along the profile with a black/white zebra pattern present, passing by the red leather Nike Swoosh and surrounding the TPU “Air Max” panel back towards the collar. Our final hit of animal details on the upper comes via the suede vamp which appears in a leopard print, contrasted by the grey mesh base, white laces, tongue, and eyestays. Atop the tongue, Nike branding is seen in red while the tag that it sits on comes with a scratched graphic akin to that of a tiger slashing. Back on the heel, the usual Nike Air Max branding is present in black while the entire design is rounded out by a white foam midsole with red near the exposed Air unit and a grey, black, and red rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 90 Animal is set to release on November 24th, 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
