We’ve got no shortage of Nike Dunk colorways from The Swoosh in the past or in the future as the model (in its High, Low, and soon-to-be Mid-top form) has reigned supreme in the sneaker industry. Even though it may seem like we’ve seen every possible rendition in terms of colorways, somehow-someway we’re still seeing brand new takes on the model as seen with the Nike Dunk High "Black Redwood."
The sneaker dons an all-leather construction like many Dunk Highs do, though its color blocking does switch things up from what we’re used to seeing. Black leather overlays appear on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel while the base layer along the toebox, quarter panel, and collar features a deep purple hue. Contrasting these two shades is the all-white mesh tongue and cream lace set that stops just below the redwood-shaded “Nike” text on the tongue tag. With most Dunks, you’d expect to see the Swoosh dressed in the same color as the overlays, however, here we get another hit of purple on the logo that makes it almost blend into the model. Finishing off the entire design is the white Dunk midsole paired with a semi-translucent gum rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High Black Redwood is expected to release in 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is currently TBA.
