One of the most exciting members of Nike Basketball, Ja Morant, has still yet to officially have his signature silhouette (the Nike Ja 1) hit retail shelves, however, the excitement for this new model is off-the-charts. So far, we’ve gotten looks at a range of iterations including the retro Grizzlies-inspired “Scratch,” a “Phantom," and “Day 1” colorway, though these have all stuck to a semi-traditional route for their design. Throwing mismatched shades between both pairs, the Nike Ja 1 Hunger is almost here.
Coming split in its color scheme, the sneaker features an all-over red shade on the left sneaker while the right pair comes in a game royal across its mesh, leather, and TPU upper. Tonal shades on the tongue, lace set, and eyestays match the primary color for each sneaker while the tongue tags invert the color scheme. Along the midfoot, a black Swoosh runs back over the leather heel tab that, once again, inverts the color scheme compared to the rest of each respective sneaker and features Ja’s number “12” embroidered into its center. Underfoot sits a a black midsole with orange speckles throughout while the entire design is completed by a rubber midsole that flips the primary color on each respective pair.
The Nike Ja 1 Hunger was originally released May 26, 2023. It is set to restock on September 8 through Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
