NBA off-season has been a rollercoaster ride with trades, controversy, and free agent signings shaking up the landscape of the league. This can often be a headache for sportswear brands that sponsor these athletes as the development of product releases is done months in advance. With rumors swirling of Kevin Durant possibly heading to Boston, Nike is set to release a colorway of the KD 15 in "Brooklyn Nets" colors.
Coming in its usual construction of mesh and plastic, the colorway comes inspired by the Brooklyn Nets team colors of black and white. Whiteish-blue mesh runs throughout the upper of the sneaker with a plastic fused overlay in black running along the edges, complimenting the black side-cage, home to a white Nike Swoosh that sits along the midfoot. Running down the spine is a black-on-black lace and tongue combo with the same whiteish-blue hue seen on the mesh appearing on the KD branding atop the tongue. Stealthy black hits continue on the heel portion, collar, and insole, though white branding details break up the monochromatic color. Underfoot, a black midsole is paired with a marbled black and white rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 15 Brooklyn Nets is set to release on August 3rd, 2022 through Nike and select Nike Basketball retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
