Quentin Grimes of the New York Knicks is a massive Nike Kobe fan. Since entering the league, the Knicks star has been sporting various Kobes, including the Nike Kobe 6. Recently, Grimes took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of two PE colorways of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro designed exclusively for Team USA. These colorways come to us following news that Nike will relaunch the Nike Kobe line this Kobe Day (August 24).
The two pairs of Kobe 6 Protros are adorned in a patriotic blend of red, white, and blue. One pair flaunts a primarily blue upper offset by red accents on the tongue, lace set, sockliner, and sections of the sole unit. White details shine on the Kobe logo, Swoosh, midsole, and heel overlay, enhancing the sneakers' patriotic appeal. The other pair inverts this color scheme, featuring a primarily white upper highlighted by navy blue elements on the Swoosh, sockliner, and parts of the sole unit. The white foam midsole pairs perfectly with the white heel overlay, while the red accents bring energy to the laces, tongue, and heel counter. Both designs are finished with a distinctive marbled rubber outsole containing each pair's accent colors.
As these are player exclusives, the Nike Kobe 6 Team USA PEs are not set for a public release. Check below for a detailed image of each pair and keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on upcoming releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
