With the recent trend of chunky dad runners staying strong, Nike’s response needed to be better than just producing more Air Monarchs. Instead, The Swoosh dug into the archives (albeit not that far back) and reintroduced the world to the Nike Zoom Vomero 5. Originally released in the early 2010s, the silhouette’s resemblance to New Balance designs seemingly has made its return a massive success as color schemes continue to appear and disappear off shelves just as quickly. Now, the model has been spotted in an “Olive Flak Volt” colorway.
The multi-paneled design of the Zoom Vomero 5 takes on a slew of materials, including suede, leather, TPU, and mesh, while coming covered in shades of olive green, volt green, brown, and white. Open-faced mesh near the toe and collar comes in a two-tone volt green and brown finish with muted olive hues found along the suede toecap and eyestays. Piercing off the sneaker are the volt green hits visible near the tongue, lace set, sockliner, and lateral Nike Swoosh. For its TPU overlays near the midfoot and heel, we see a chocolate brown shade and olive in each location respectively while the design comes complete with a white and green foam midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Olive Flak Volt is set to release in 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
