While Drake's success in the music industry is (almost) unmatched, his NOCTA label, in collaboration with Nike, has been looked down upon by many for its sneaker designs. After the varied reception of the Hot Step Air Terra, the partnership bounced back with the well-received Glide and followed this up with another retro model as Drake revived the Air Zoom Drive. We have a first look at the second Hot Step design in a vibrant Total Orange rendition.
Drake’s Hot Step 2 maintains the silhouette's original shape but ventures into new territory with updated paneling and tooling. The sneaker has a mesh base visible at the toe, tongue, and heel, providing breathability and comfort. Synthetic overlays with distinctive concave ridges adorn the profile, offering a futuristic appeal.
The titular shade engulfs the sneaker, complemented by chrome accents on the mini Swoosh and midfoot TPU overlay, adding a touch of sophistication to the otherwise monochrome design. NOCTA's branding on the tongue signifies the collaboration's exclusivity, while the tonal foam midsole, equipped with Air cushioning in the heel, ensures a blend of style and functionality. This cushioning is paired with a durable rubber outsole, completing a design that's as ready for the streets as it is for special occasions.
The NOCTA x Nike Hot Step 2 Total Orange shock dropped on March 15, 2024, via Nike SNKRS in the US, with a wider drop taking place on April 4. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $200.
