LaMelo Ball and Puma have shocked the basketball world with the introduction of the Puma MB series, quickly catching fire thanks to its in-your-face colorways and hit collaborations with the likes of Rick & Morty. As we approached the end of 2022, the second model in the series, the Puma MB.02, was introduced and is still just as hot as the OG. Recently seen in a “Galaxy” colorway, things remain tamer on the upcoming “Flare” iteration.
Coming dressed in its typical monomesh upper, the sneaker takes on an all-black appearance for its TPU overlays and mesh base while maintaining its standard construction. Phoenix wings appear on the lateral and medial sides in a black hue similar to the rest of the upper while the lateral side hosts a Puma Formstrip that comes integrated into this design. Melo’s “1-of-1” branding and depictions of a phoenix appear on the vamp and tongue tag respectively while we find another bird located on the sunset glow-shaded heel counter. More shades of sunset glow appear on the medial side’s TPU overlays with the design finished off by a grey and pink Nitro foam-cushioned midsole and outsole.
The Puma MB.02 Flare is set to release on February 24th, 2023 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
