Since signing a multi-year endorsement deal with the brand in 2020, LaMelo Ball has been at the forefront of Puma's push back into the basketball market. Now into his second signature model, Ball sees his Puma MB.02 take on a vintage-inspired look.
The "Whispers" colorway of the Puma MB.02 features an all-over frosted ivory upper that imbues the shoe with a sense of age. Contrasting black accents punctuate the branding details, adding depth to the overall design. The sneaker maintains its signature TPU and monomesh construction for durability and breathability. The phoenix wings logo on the midfoot, a symbol used by Melo in all his Puma collections thus far, comes in a tonal ivory finish on the lateral side. On the medial side, minor black hits near the top of this wing design break up the monochromatic look. LaMelo's branding is prominently placed on the vamp, tongue, and heel — all in black. The Nitro Foam-infused midsole and grippy outsole come in a tonal ivory finish, completing the vintage look.
The Puma MB.02 Whispers will release May 26 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
