Reebok’s glory days of having some of the premier performance basketball silhouettes in the NBA may be over, however, these retro models from the 90s and early 2000s still hold a nostalgic place in the hearts of those who grew up in this era. Tapping into both the nostalgia of the models themselves and the times we spent going to our local rec centers for a game or two of 21, Reebok is bringing “Rec Center” vibes to the Pump Omni Zone 2.
Alongside the already revealed Reebok Question Low “Rec Center," this rendition of Dee Brown’s favorite Pump Omni Zone 2 follows a similar color palette, however, black suede takes over the majority of the upper for this pair. We see this material and color land along the mudguard, toebox, and collar while more black hits appear on the plastic and mesh portion of the tongue as well as the lace set. Pump branding and the button itself land at the top of the tongue in a blue shade that matches the hit of blue found on the top portion of the side cage. On the bottom of this side cage, you’ll find orange contrasting the black and white hues surrounding it. Tying in the theme of the rec center is the insole’s depiction of a basketball court as well as a direct nod with “Rec Center” branding stylized in Reebok’s font. Rounding out the design of the upper is the Reebok “The Pump” branding near the lateral midfoot and Hexalite branding on the heel while the sole unit features creamy hues mixed with blue and orange hits.
The Reebok Pump Omni Zone 2 Rec Center is set to release on March 17th, 2023 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
