Known for his avant-garde design approach, Rick Owens already has a history of transforming the Converse Chuck 70. In his return the silhouette, the designer is taking it one step further by removing the laces from the DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK.
The Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 Laceless pack presents two colorways: "Iron" and "Cactus Flower." As the name suggests, this collection removes the lacing system, providing a sleek, minimalist appeal. The metallic eyestays, however, still remain. Both pairs continue to showcase the unique features of the DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK collab, including the reworked sole unit, co-branded elements, and exaggerated tongue. The design is rounded off with a white and black midsole, contrasting nicely with a gum outsole.
The Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 Laceless will release May 16 through Converse, Nike SNKRS, Rick Owens, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
