Working his way up the design ladder throughout the 2010s, Salehe Bembury has reached the top rung in his own right. His work at Payless Shoes, Cole Haan, and Yeezy eventually led to the luxury fashion house Versace giving him a position as their VP of Footwear and making him a household name in the design world. The general public would begin to learn of the NYC-born designer through his work with Crocs and New Balance on the Pollex Clog and various NB silhouettes respectively, though he still finds time to work with other brands in the footwear space. Recently teasing a Clark's collaboration, Bembury is now heading to another luxury fashion label, Moncler.
With only a single close-up shot posted of the tongue of the sneaker, we’re currently unsure what model the duo is working on or if it's an entirely new design. The photo does showcase some classic Bembury design motifs like ultra-hairy suede and a fingerprint-inspired print and cut on the leather portion of the tongue. Embroidered in the center of the tongue is a co-branded Moncler and Salehe Bembury tag while the color palette appears to borrow from his previous designs with NB.
The Salehe Bembury x Moncler footwear collaboration is set to release in 2023. Expect pairs to release through Moncler online and in-store. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA, though Moncler does charge luxury prices so expect a hefty price tag.
