While not immediately on the radar of your average sneakerhead, Salomon has been making waves in the fashion industry with collaborations from CDG, Palace, and more as of late. Taking this newfound hype, the brand is shifting towards a more streetwear-centric approach to its color palette while still maintaining its iconic performance-driven design, especially seen on the latest colorway of the Salomon ACS Pro Advanced, which takes on a beige makeover titled “Safari.”
The trail-ready silhouette gets built with leather, mesh, and plastic, coming covered in tonal shades of beige throughout the majority of the sneaker. Various panels on the toe take on different forms of mesh that accent the deeper khaki leather overlays nearby. Running up the tongue is the Quicklace system that comes in black, placed above the Salomon branding along the mesh. For those who like to tuck your laces in, Salomon provides a pocket within to hide the end of the lacing system. Along the midfoot, a plastic overlay acts as both the eyestays and an exoskeleton for improved lockdown. Back on the heel, two pull-tabs help with on and off wear and feature more Salomon branding in a tonal beige matching the rest of the sneaker.
Internally, SensiFit technology is utilized to help cradle the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, allowing for a customizable fit around your foot. More comfort is provided via the OrthoLite insole in black. Underfoot, the midsole follows the beige theme with its Agile Chassis System providing stability and dampening while working in tandem with the EnergyCell cushioning within. Rounding everything out is the Contagrip rubber outsole coming in black.
The Salomon ACS Pro Advanced Safari is slated to release in 2022 through Salomon and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $230.
