Celebrated for their shared vision and innovative collaborations, Social Status and Nike are joining forces again. The duo has been instrumental in reigniting the passion for the Nike Mac Attack, a silhouette that was once the signature sneaker of tennis legend John McEnroe. They've spun tales of local bodegas and community-centric narratives with prior releases, including the memorable Silver Linings and Social Currency colorways. Now, we have an official look at the next rendition of Social Status' overarching Mac Attack Collection – the Cobblestone Off Noir.
This upcoming pair is reminiscent of the Silver Linings variant but carves its own niche. Starting with a reflective 3M mesh foundation, cracked leather and luxurious satin materials elevate this Mac Attack's appearance. A black palette graces the mudguard, eyestays, vamp, collar, and a small portion of the heel, with a contrasting grey suede heel overlay giving it depth. The light grey satin Swoosh is an exciting element, as a secondary shade is likely hidden below. However, at this time, we have no confirmation that this is the case. If there is another layer, the amethyst smoke shade present in the color code is probably used. Branding is kept elegant, with Nike's logo on one tongue and the Social Status symbol on the other. A muted sail midsole and a gum rubber outsole round off the design. The packaging, too, is thoughtfully designed — a nod to bodega themes, complete with a "bubblegum" box holding extra laces with joint branding.
The Social Status x Nike Mac Attack Cobblestone Off Noir will release in 2023 through Social Status, Nike SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store.
