We’ve seen footwear brands across the industry look to China for inspiration or directly collaborate with labels located in the region in recent memory. While most of these have come from The Swoosh, Puma is joining the action through an upcoming collaboration with STAFFONLY, a Shanghai-based fashion label, on three unique-looking colorways of the PWRFRAME OP-1.
Seen in “X-RAY,” “METAL FUZZ,” and “WIREFRAME,” the PWRFRAME OP-1 silhouette comes constructed out of a mixture of TPU, mesh, and textiles with a futuristic appearance in its design. This is evident through the multi-layered design as well as the added TPU heel counter jetting off the back, leaving space in between the heel. Starting with the “X-RAY” rendition, the colorway lives up to the name through its semi-translucent appearance and bone-like monochromatic makeover while the “METAL FUZZ” colorway comes covered in a greyscale textile material. On its heel, the TPU overlay comes split with the top half getting a metallic silver finish while the bottom half borrows from the all-black sole unit below.
Finally, the “WIREFRAME” colorway gets its entire upper covered in a graphic depicting what looks like a 3D grid. This design detail even works its way down below onto the sole unit while the only portion forgoing this is the TPU heel counter.
The STAFFONLY x Puma PWRFRAME OP-1 Pack is set to release on December 3th, 2022 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set TBD.
