It seems that Jeff Staple and Puma are a match made in heaven. After dropping a rare three-way collab in the form of the atmos x Staple x Puma Suede and teaming up for a mismatched Suede CFL, the New York City icon has now reunited with the Herzogenaurach-based sportswear company for the Staple x Puma Slipstream Pack. Taking inspiration from Gidra, a newspaper founded in 1969 that was a powerful Asian-American voice during the civil rights movement, the special collaboration takes details and elements from the legendary publication, and places them nearly in a two-shoe collection.
Taking on the Slipstream silhouette, the first pair is painted in a radiant yellow colorway with soft orange accents throughout, while the second one opts for a triple black makeup that's as stealthy as it gets. Both sneakers are outfitted in leather, complete with a snakeskin effect, and Gidra-inspired detailing adorns the tongue tags and custom insoles. Elsewhere, Staple x Puma co-branding is finely debossed around the heels, and both shoes sit on top of chunky rubber midsoles which offer all-day comfort.
The Staple x Puma Slipstream Pack is set to release on March 10th, 2023 in men's sizes. Expected to drop at Puma and select online and in-store retailers, they'll retail for $140 each.
