Since announcing a multi-year partnership in 2021, Stone Island and New Balance have delivered sneakers that embody their respective specialties well. They've released multiple colorways of the FuelCell RC Elite V2, a pair of Furon V7 soccer cleats, and, most recently, the Stone Island x New Balance 576 Legacy. Now, Stone Island and New Balance Tokyo Design Studio have crafted a new running silhouette dubbed the FuelCell C_1.
The sneaker contains 3D knit with NB's logo placed near the toe in similar fashion to the two's first collaboration. This lightweight mesh gets covered in varying shades of tan and white with the eyestays, tongue, and sockliner coming in tan hues. For the other colorway, a red and purple mixture is applied to a brown knit. For lacing, a toggle lace setup is present and sits below a co-branded Stone Island and New Balance tag. On the heel, Stone Island branding comes part of the TPU heel counter and presents half of the brand's compass logo. Underfoot sits a stacked FuelCell-cushioned midsole in brown and tan on the "Tan" colorway and a tonal shade on the "Brown" pair. Rounding out the design is the outsole with cutouts near the heel and toe.
The Stone Island x New Balance TDS FuelCell C_1 Pack will release on July 25, 2023, through Stone Island while New Balance and select retailers will release on July 28. online and in-store.
