Thinking of performance basketball footwear will usually evoke images of Three Stripes, Swooshes, or Jumpman logos. However, more NBA and WNBA players have been joining Skechers, as the LA-based footwear brand has recruited stars like Joel Embiid, Rickea Jackson, Jabari Walker, and Terance Mann to their roster. Mann, who plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, recently debuted a new player-exclusive colorway of the SKX Nexus silhouette, inspired by one of his favorite sweet treats — Cookie’s ‘N Cream.
Keeping things neutral is the cream palette applied to the upper, as seen on the engineered mesh base layer. More cream lands on the fused TPU reinforcement near the eyelets and the leather heel tab. Contrasting black hits are located on the lace set, sockliner, and neoprene tongue, which also contains white details on the Skechers “S” logo. Another Skechers “S” design finds a home on the lateral and medial collar. Creamy hues take over the foam portion around the heel, speckled with brown hits across the material. Finishing the design is an off-white rubber midsole paired with a cream rubber outsole that contains a cookie-crumb-inspired design.
Unfortunately, this PE colorway of the Skechers SKX Nexus will remain exclusive to Terance Mann.
