Near the tail end of January, images surfaced of a purported Tiffany & Co. collaboration with Nike on the iconic AF1 silhouette which has been confirmed to be released this coming March. Reception to this partnership has been lukewarm online, to say the least, as many have criticized the simple color scheme, lack of a silver lace dubrae, and the extra accessories that will be sold separately from the already $400 sneaker. While some users have pointed out the all-black construction and small hit of Tiffany Blue references the boxes the brands jewelry is packaged in, images of a sample version of this collaboration have made their way online.
Unlike the retail version, the upper comes (almost) completely covered in tumbled leather with the eyelets taking on a nubuck construction. Tiffany blue hues wrap around the various overlays and underlays sans the nubuck portions while the tongue and lace set both continue the black-on-black look. Branding details remain the same compared to the version we all will have a shot at with Tiffany text located atop the tongue, a Nike Swoosh running along the midfoot, and the sterling silver bar placed back on the spine of the heel. Underfoot sits a white AF1 midsole paired with a Tiffany blue rubber outsole.
This version of the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low will likely remain a sample as we have no confirmation on a second pair for this collaboration.
