Some of the most revered brands in fashion are based in Europe with the likes of Gucci and a large number of luxury fashion houses. While not a household name in the states or a high-fashion brand, Finland-based Karhu actually has a storied history that can be tied to adidas as they developed The Three Stripes logo and sold it to the German sportswear brand. The company specializes in various running and outdoor-ready silhouettes, though their latest release sticks to the running motif. Teaming up with another Finnish brand, Vyner Articles, the duo has created an all-new silhouette that pays homage to 70s rock and heavy metal with two colorways of the M-Runner.
Both colorways come with tan suede overlays located along the mudguard, heel, and eyestays, while the nylon upper differs between the two, coming in orange on the "Nectarine" pair and white on the "Snow White" option. Tonal laces matching the suede details run up the tongue to a co-branded tag between both Vyner Articles and Karhu that comes in green. Along the midfoot, Karhu’s “M” logo comes in green on the "Snow White" colorway while the "Nectarine" pair gets an all-black look. Back on the heel, Vyner Articles’ emblem is printed in the middle of the suede overlay. Underfoot, a tonal tan midsole with an accenting hit of color that borrows from the “M” logo gets paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Vyner Articles x Karhu M-Runner in Nectarine & Snow White is slated to release on September 9th, 2022 in the US through select retailers while the EU saw a release earlier in the month. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
