This February, the fashion and sports worlds are set to collide with the launch of the WHR x Reebok collection. This collaboration marks the first partnership between Reebok and Western Hydrodynamic Research (WHR), a company celebrated for its innovative beach utility products. The collection reimagines two of Reebok’s most iconic shoe designs, the Club C 85 and the Beatnik, infusing them with a beach-inspired ethos and sustainable materials.
WHR's dedication to crafting products that enhance the connection between humans and the ocean has significantly influenced the collection's design direction. The collaboration brings a blend of recycled fabrics and suede, chosen specifically to mirror WHR's commitment to durability and environmental consciousness. These materials were carefully selected from Reebok’s assortment of low-impact resources, ensuring that the collection looks good and benefits the planet.
Pat Towersey, the founder of WHR, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the opportunity to add a unique twist to the Club C 85 and the Beatnik. Both shoes have been redesigned to pay homage to their classic aesthetics and incorporate sustainable elements and WHR's signature style. The Club C 85 and the Beatnik each feature suede accents, gum outsoles for added texture, and exclusive WHR branding details that underscore the collaboration’s identity.
The WHR x Reebok Collection will release on February 9, 2024, exclusively through WHR’s website, while a wider release through Reebok and select retailers of the Club C 85 will take place on February 16th. The Club C 85 will retail for $130, while the Beatnik will retail for $120.
