Runners for decades have mostly stuck with adidas or Nike when it comes to their footwear choice for the track, sidewalk, or gym. Even though Nike has grabbed headlines for their Vaporfly shoe boosting the performance of athletes so much that they are banned in competitions, adidas continues to push forward with running tech as showcased in their latest release - the adidas Adizero Prime X STRUNG “Pulse Mint.”
Keeping the same shape and structure as a standard Adizero Prime X, The Three Stripes adds a STRUNG upper to the model. This material is described by adidas as “a textile innovation” that takes data from athletes and transforms these data points into a dynamic material tuned specifically for the athlete’s needs. Though you can’t do this at the moment, the technology could allow different properties to be applied to the threading that makes up the upper. For this first colorway of the mash-up sneaker, a minty green shade takes over most of the fibers across the upper with webbings of Fuchsia visible throughout. Standard adidas branding remains with the Three Stripes logo on them midfoot coming constructed out of STRUNG and the tongue hosting a bold “Adizero” logo down its spine. Rounding out the design is the triple-layered Lightstrike Pro cushioned midsole featuring ENERGYRODS paired with a Continental Rubber Prime X outsole.
The adidas Adizero Prime X STRUNG Pulse Mint is set to release on February 1st, 2023 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $300.
